Branson Named Top Holiday Lights Vacation Destination

Branson has been ranked as one of the best vacation destinations to visit to see holiday lights.
Yahoo! travel editors recently released a Top 10 Holiday Lights Destinations list, with Branson coming in at No. 6.  Branson, Missouri was included on the list because of its marvelous Ozark Mountain Christmas event, which features Silver Dollar City’s “An Old Time Christmas” and the Branson Area Festival of Lights.

Reindeer Prance Their Way to Titanic Museum Winter Wonderland Event

The Titanic Museum Branson welcomes visitors during the holidays with a Winter Wonderland celebration.  During November and December, the Titanic Attraction is a seasonal delight for the senses, with sights and sounds highlighting the magic of the season.  Come enjoy the glittering lights, festive decorations, and meet Santa and his special reindeer.

Branson Variety Theater Announces New Shows for 2012 Season

The Branson Variety Theater is known for its great shows.  Over the years they have been home to Bobby Vinton, Spirit of the Dance and Broadway!.

For the 2012 Branson shows season, the theater is bringing back The Twelve Irish Tenors, as well as Hooray for Hollywood and Shake, Rattle and Roll.  Shake Rattle and Roll was named best new show in 2010, and Hooray for Hollywood received the honor for the 2011 season.  Branson Variety Theater is also opening two new shows in 2012 – The Official Tribute: The Songs of the Four Seasons and The Beach Boys and The Miniature Pet Circus.
The Official Tribute Show beings March 4, 2012, and will take guests on a musical journey featuring the incomparable harmonies of two of the greatest American Rock and Pop bands of all times.  Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are famous for hit songs like “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Rag Doll,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and any others.  The Beach Boys tribute will feature songs such as “Surfin’ USA,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Good Vibrations,” “California” and many other chart-topping hits.

The Miniature Pet Circus will be a summer show for families, scheduled for May 18 through August 18, 2011.  The show dazzles with singing ringleaders, acrobats, jugglers, clowns, magic and the Miniature Pet Circus.

The Gatlin Brothers & Debby Boone Together Again in Branson, MO


The Gatlin Brothers and Debby Boone are together again at The Mansion Theatre in Branson, MO.

Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers have a combined 33 songs that have been on the Top 40 Billboard charts.  Their hits include “All the Gold in California,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You,” “Broken Lady,” “She Used to be Somebody’s Baby,” and “Talkin’ to the Moon.” 
The first time The Gatlin Brothers and Debby Boone performed together was last year in Branson, and they decided it was a tradition they wanted to continue. 

This is Debby Boone’s third season to be a part of OzarkMountain Christmas.  During the show, she performs a variety of songs, including her smash “You Light Up My Life.”  She also shares family stories and photos during the Branson show. Her father is the famous Pat Boone, and she has many memories of singing with her family, especially around the holidays.

Hamner Barber Variety Show Named Best Show for Families

The Hamner Barber Magical Variety Show has been voted the Best Show for Families in Branson, MO.

Dave Hamner and Jim Barber were honored with the award during their performance on November 6, 2011.  The show was recognized through the Branson Show Awards, who also honored them with the award for “Best Illusionist Performance.”
The Hamner Barber Variety Show is an action packed production with incredible, award winning magic illusions, hilarious comedy, and a talented troupe of dancers.

Daniel O'Donnell Performing Limited Engagement at Tri-Lakes Center Branson

Daniel O’Donnell is performing in Branson, Missouri just a few more times before his limited engagement at the Tri-Lakes Center ends.

O’Donnell returned to Branson for a 15th time, with Daniel O’Donnell tickets selling out quickly.  There are tickets still available for shows on November 18, 19, 21, 22 and 23. Plus, tickets are less than $50 each.  Appearing with Daniel O’Donnell is Mary Duff.
This year’s show is a bit different than last year’s though, as both entertainers perform more of their regular songs.  Last year’s performance was billed as a Christmas show, with this year’s emphasis more on standard fare.  Only five Christmas songs are performed during the show.  O’Donnell stated that it was due to fan demand, as he only visits in November, and they wanted to see him perform the songs that have made him famous.  They perform a few duets as well.

Daniel O'Donnell plans to return to Branson MO next year as well, with show dates in November and December 2012.

The Wonder of Christmas featured at Shoji Tabuchi Show

Shoji Tabuchi stars in one of the most popular shows inBranson, Missouri.  His Branson Christmas show is one that is on everybody’s wish list, and for good reason.  Shoji Tabuchi presents “The Wonder of Christmas” now through December 11, and the show is filled with old favorites, new surprises and special appearances by Tabuchi’s daughter, Christina.

The show is fast-paced and exciting, largely due to the amount of variety the Tabuchi’s squeeze into the two hour production.  Shoji Tabuchi’s violin is featured prominently during the Christmas show, but all kinds of different Christmas music is performed during the show.  The set lists includes traditional Christmas favorites, spiritual songs, hymns and a little bit of rock ‘n roll and country.  One of the most moving performances is that of “Ave Maria,” as is “O Holy Night.”

Tony Orlando Returns to Welk Resort Theater in Branson

Tony Orlando is back in Branson, Missouri!  He will be performing his Great American Christmas show at the Welk Resort Theater, now through December 9, 2011.

The show consists of two main parts, with the first half dedicated to Christmas, with Tony Orlando singing holiday classics.  The second half of the show revolves around a short play Orlando wrote years ago that reimagines Santa Claus.  In Orlando’s version, Santa Claus is a soldier for Christ, putting the emphasis on the true reason for the season.
Veterans have always been important to Tony Orlando and that rings true during his Christmas show as well. Orlando makes a point that many of our favorite Christmas songs were inspired or influenced by our nation’s military, including songs like “I’ll be Home for Christmas.”

Andy Williams Christmas Show Celebrates the Holiday Season

The Andy Williams Christmas show debuted at the Moon River Theater last week, November 1, and has been a real hit with audiences.

Even though Andy Williams has not been able to perform in the show, due to being diagnosed with bladder cancer, he handpicked the cast for the show and has been very involved in the production. 

The Branson show features a variety of performers, including the Lennon Brothers and Gail Lennon, singer and instrumentalists Mike Cathcart, violinist Dean Church, and the Warnocks, a family vocal group.  Two of the headlining acts are The Lennon Sisters and Oh What a Night!, a Frankie Valli and the Four Season tribute quartet.  Both groups also perform their own shows at the Moon River Theatre.  Christmas with The Lennon Sisters performs daily, except for Sundays, at 2pm and Oh What a Night! performs daily, except for Sundays, at 10am. 
The Andy Williams Christmas show also includes quick change artists Pasha and Aliona, Russian-trained performers who dance and perform amazing quick changes; and Bob Anderson, a vocal impressionist also serving as the shows emcee.

Dino Kartsonakis returns to Branson for Christmas Season

Dino Kartsonakis is returning to the Branson stage for a limited engagement at the Tri-Lakes Center. 

Dino, an accomplished pianist, will perform with his wife Cheryl.  His performances are scheduled for 18, November 18, 19, 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 7:30pm.  The Christmas-themed show has been dubbed “The Sounds of the Season with Dino and Cheryl.”
