Orlando’s show has been a staple of Branson’s Veterans Homecoming Week. Held annually from November 5-11, the celebration including veteran’s reunions and special tribute shows highlighting their courage and honor. Orlando’s show is traditionally the finale of the event. With this year being the last Orlando will host, hopes are that another entertainer will step up and create a new veterans tribute show. Perhaps a new generation of performers will take the torch in saluting America’s heroes. For visitors who plan on attending this year’s show they can look forward to the presentation of the Yellow Ribbon Medal of Freedom. Orlando presents the award to an outstanding American who has helped the cause of veterans. Last baseball hall of famer Tommy Lasorda was on hand to accept the award. Other recipients have been John McCain, Bob Hope and Mike Huckabee.
The show is sure to be an emotional on as well. As Orlando performs his last veterans show in Branson, a final thank you will be his gift to the men and women whose service he has long lauded. If you plan on attending Branson’s Veterans Homecoming mark your calendars for this special show!
